In October this year, it will be 20 years since 12 Nordic chefs formulated and signed the New Nordic Food Manifesto. The purpose of the manifesto was to create knowledge and raise interest and respect for local food in the Nordic countries.
Today, we reap the benefits of the visionary food work that was initiated in 2004. In food production, cooking, and entrepreneurship, we see great development. Local food has gained prominence; we have more good restaurants and food experiences around the country, and political discussions are taking place about food systems, dietary policies, and awareness of local food.
On Friday, October 4th, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the Household School of the Faroe Islands and Matkovin invite the public to an event featuring Danish chef and food entrepreneur Claus Meyer, who was one of the initiators of the New Nordic Food Manifesto. Through a lecture and discussion, we will talk about Nordic and Faroese food culture.
Participation in the event is free, but registration is required as space is limited.
