Jóhannus grew up in Trøllanes and has lived there for most of his life. Many may associate him with Kallur Lighthouse, as he has worked as a tour guide for this iconic location and was also the one to set up the gravestone for James Bond.
In addition to his work in tourism, Jóhannus is also a farmer in Trøllanes. He is the fifteenth generation to run the farm, which traces its roots all the way back to 1698.
Jóhannus says that he has always felt a strong connection to farming. It's especially the process of caring for the sheep that provide food for the table that he finds so fulfilling and rewarding.
He truly enjoys living in Trøllanes, where the nature is majestic, and life is peaceful. In 2010, he set himself the goal of making a living from the land — whether through sheep, potatoes, cows, or something entirely different. At that time, he never imagined that tourism would play such a key role. However, it has brought exciting new opportunities, making it possible for Jóhannus to make a living right from his home island.
