Kallur Lighthouse stands on the dramatic northern tip of Kalsoy. Towering sea cliffs and spectacular views of the North Atlantic surround the lighthouse. The nearby James Bond memorial from No Time to Die attracts visitors from around the world. Together, they make this one of the Faroe Islands’ most popular attractions.

Start your journey by taking the ferry from Klaksvík to Syðradalur on Kalsoy. Continue along the 17 km road through four tunnels until you reach the village of Trøllanes. Parking fills up quickly during summer, so many visitors choose bus route 506, which connects with the ferry.

The hike begins just outside Trøllanes. A clear trail leads across grassy hills to the lighthouse. The return hike covers about 4 km and climbs roughly 400 metres. Most hikers complete the route in 1½ to 2 hours. Wear sturdy hiking boots, as rain often leaves the ground muddy and slippery.

You can hike to Kallur Lighthouse throughout the year. Always check the weather forecast before you leave. Avoid the trail during strong winds, heavy rain, thick fog, snow or icy conditions. Stay on the marked trail and keep a safe distance from the cliff edges at all times.

Visitors pay a mandatory hiking fee. Adults pay DKK 200, while children aged 13–17 pay DKK 100. Children under 13 hike free of charge. The local community uses the fee to maintain the trail and improve visitor facilities.
