Experience an authentic fishing and sightseeing tour in a traditional Faroese boat. This small-group experience allows for mindful exploration, with a maximum of five guests on board.
The tour departs from the northern marina in Hvannasund. As you sail, your guide shares local stories while you pass through magnificent landscapes.
Heading north, you explore the coastline of Borðoy towards the abandoned village of Múli. You then continue west along the dramatic Múli headland. After that, you cross the fjord towards the island of Viðoy.
Along the Viðoy coastline, you sail past steep gorges and sea caves. These areas are ideal for photography. You are also likely to see wildlife along the way. Seabirds such as puffins, guillemots, and Arctic terns are common. Seals are also frequently spotted.
Off the coast near Viðareiði, between Viðoy and Borðoy, you will cast your fishing line. Surrounded by high mountains, this area forms a natural amphitheatre. It is both scenic and rich in marine life.
The area is known for excellent fishing conditions. Some spots are ideal for Atlantic cod, while others are better for haddock and whiting. You may also catch saithe, redfish, or flatfish.
You are welcome to keep your catch. Few places in the world offer fish as fresh and delicious as this.
