Kalalon

Kalalon is a small and welcoming place in the village of Kirkja on the island of Fugloy, the easternmost island of the Faroe Islands. Here visitors can enjoy both food and accommodation, while experiencing the peaceful atmosphere of one of the country’s most remote communities.

Kalalon offers “biti” (light meals) for guests who visit the island. Visitors can order a good meal and take a break while exploring the beautiful surroundings of Fugloy. The simple and cosy setting makes it a perfect stop during a day trip to the island.

In addition to food, Kalalon also provides accommodation (ból) for guests who wish to stay longer and experience life on Fugloy. Spending a night on the island offers a special opportunity to enjoy the quiet nature, dramatic cliffs, and small village atmosphere.

Kalalon can also help arrange guided tours around the island. With a local guide, visitors can learn more about the history of Fugloy, its traditions, and the unique landscape that surrounds the villages of Kirkja and Hattarvík.

Because Fugloy is one of the most remote islands in the Faroe Islands, places like Kalalon play an important role in welcoming travellers. Visitors are encouraged to call in advance to arrange meals, accommodation, or guided experiences.

Whether you visit Fugloy for a short trip or a longer stay, Kalalon in Kirkja offers a warm welcome, good food, and a chance to experience the authentic life of the Northern Faroe Islands.
