Seabirds, Seals & Seacaves Tour in Árnafjørður

Experience an authentic boat tour through some of the Faroe Islands’ most stunning landscapes. Sail in a traditional Faroese boat and enjoy a calm and mindful exploration of nature and wildlife.

The tour departs from Árnafjørður marina. From here, you follow the eastern coastline near Mjóvin. As you sail close to shore, you will see dramatic cliffs, ravines, and sea caves. This area is ideal for landscape photography.

Continuing along the coastline, you pass the impressive cliffs known locally as “Bergið” and enjoy views towards the island of Svínoy. You then cross the fjord towards the iconic headland Lisshøvdi. Along the western shores, you sail past an Arctic tern colony and a unique puffin nesting area.

This tour offers excellent opportunities for birdwatching. You may see puffins, black guillemots, fulmars, eider ducks, oystercatchers, Arctic terns, skuas, razorbills, shags, and several species of gulls. In addition to observing the birds, you will learn about their behaviour, nesting habits, migration, and role in Faroese culture.

Keep an eye out for grey seals, which live naturally in this area. They are often seen resting on skerries or near sea caves. You may also encounter other marine wildlife during the tour.

Throughout the experience, your guide shares local stories and knowledge. This gives you a deeper understanding of both nature and life in the Faroe Islands.
