Join an authentic boat tour through spectacular landscapes filled with seabirds and marine wildlife. You will sail in a traditional Faroese boat, offering a calm and mindful way to explore the coastline.
The tour departs from the northern marina in Hvannasund on Viðoy. From here, you sail north along the coast of Borðoy towards the remote village of Múli. As you continue, you follow the dramatic Múli headland before crossing the fjord towards Viðoy.
Along the Viðoy coastline, you pass impressive gorges and sea caves. These natural formations create a stunning setting and are perfect for photography.
This tour is ideal for birdwatching. You may see puffins, black guillemots, fulmars, eider ducks, oystercatchers, Arctic terns, kittiwakes, razorbills, shags, and several species of gulls. In addition to spotting the birds, you will learn about their behaviour, nesting habits, migration, and importance in Faroese culture.
Keep an eye out for grey seals, which inhabit this area. They are often seen resting on rocks or near sea caves along the shoreline. You may also encounter other marine wildlife during the tour.
Throughout the journey, your guide shares local stories and knowledge. This adds cultural depth to the experience and connects you to the surrounding landscape.
