The Villages

 

Viðoy is the northernmost island in the Faroe Islands. It lies east of Borðoy and is connected by a scenic causeway, making it easy to visit. The name Viðoy means “wood island,” which suggests a landscape of trees. However, today the island is known for its rugged cliffs and open scenery.
